Over 2,000,000 people in the UK have vision impairment and nearly 20,000 people actively use Braille.Braille represents text as a series of raised dots allowing blind people to read with their fingers. The six dots that make up Braille translate into letters of the alphabet, numbers, symbols and common words.

Braille is read throughout the world by blind and partially sighted people. Just as different countries speak different languages, braille rules are slightly different in each country.

Braille signs are available in both our primaDURA aluminium or ecoDURA High Pressure Laminate. NovaDura braille signs are manufactured to conform to the Equality Act 2010 and with guidance from the Royal National Institute of Blind People ( RNIB ).

NovaDura can supply 'letter for letter' grade 1 for single and shorter wording signs. Alternatively use the abbreviated grade 2 for longer sentenced signs and notices. Likewise, Braille music tutor books can also be produced in our ecoDURA HPL product.

NovaDura Braille panels provide sharp and prominent tactile letters allowing partially sighted people to visualise signs with ease. Products can be custom made into signs or way markers of contrasting colours.

Furthermore primaDURA GLOW Class D photoluminescent grade not only allows partially sighted people to see the sign, but also confirm the content.

Consequently this can be especially beneficial in emergency situations.
