Nominations are open for Business Disability Forum 's Disability Smart Awards 2025. There are 13 Disability Smart Award categories for 2025, including the award for Disability Smart Accessible Built Environment.

This award recognises the work of organisations to design accessible and inclusive spaces for everyone, including disabled people.

The judges are looking for environments that support the physical and mental health and wellbeing of employees, customers and other disabled people who use them.

The design includes features to address the needs of customers with sight loss and hearing loss, neurodiverse conditions, and physical access issues. HSBC UK also created VR training to help staff understand the experiences of customers with different disabilities.

Diane Lightfoot, CEO, Business Disability Forum, said: "Our Disability Smart Accessible Built Environment Award is an opportunity for your organisation to show how you have designed spaces with the needs of disabled people in mind. We want to hear about projects that have involved disabled people from start to finish, resulting in better physical environments for everyone."
